Fab Wines Tastings

Fab Wines organises private and public wine tastings, and wine experiences events in England (private events, wine societies and hospitality industry in general). Fab Wines support local areas by promoting outdoor experiences, local wines appellations and local producers.

The primary Masterclasses are:

1 – Heroic Wine-making. Nebbiolo from the Alps and theco from Valdobbiadene and Santo Stefano di Cartizze
2 – Piedmont Langhe. One of the most captivating winemaking areas in Italy.

We explain all the critical factors to make outstanding wines during our tastings. We demonstrate that our producers have all those factors and teach how to choose the best Italian wines.

Nebbiolo Chiavennasca

The Nebbiolo grape variety has long been associated with Italy’s Piedmont region. Nebbiolo is the grape for two of Italy’s most outstanding wines, Barolo and Barbaresco, from Piedmont. However, Nebbiolo also reigns supreme in another region. This outstanding wine area, largely unknown to international wine enthusiasts, is Lombardy’s hidden valley: the Valtellina. This is one of the most dramatic vineyard landscapes in the world, invoking comparisons with the unlikely terraced vineyard plots of Germany’s Mosel and Portugal’s Douro.” (source)

Prosecco Superiore

The DOCG zone of Prosecco Superiore lies on a hilly strip of land beside the Piave River between the small towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.  This beautiful area sits between the Dolomites and Venice. Valdobbiadene is the heart of prosecco production, with a concentration of hill slopes up to 500 metres, including the top prosecco, Cartizze.

Valdobbiadene

Piedmont Langhe

The best Langhe wines have high acidity and firm tannin; most age for exceptionally long periods. Some famous wines from the Langhe area are Barbera d’Alba, Barolo, and Barbaresco. However, not all the wines from this region are acidic and tannic. They also produce the round Dolcetto, the Arneis and the Friesa, which are lighter and softer wines.

A Fab Wines tasting usually includes a flight of at least eight bottles of wine.
